Nanovision is developing an artificial retina (retinal prosthesis) which will allow patients with many retinal diseases and poor vision to see again. This is being developed and is not ready for patient use yet. The Nanovision device, fabricated using a unique silicon optoelectronic nanowire technology holds the promise of potentially restoring functional and useful vision in patients with macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa and certain other retinal diseases well beyond what is currently possible with other existing technologies.
We are working rapidly to perform all of the needed laboratory and preclinical development work so that we may initiate a clinical trial in the near future. Please stay tuned to our web site for new developments.
