Dr. Hiren D. Thacker
Senior Engineering Advisor
Hiren has over 15 years of experience in startup, R&D, and product organizations. Prior to joining Nanovision, he was a Principal Engineer at Oracle/Sun Microsystems, where his work on 2.5D and 3D heterogenous integration of electronics and photonics enabled numerous state-of-the-art silicon photonic transceiver module and component demonstrations. He was a key member of the team to commercialize the first-ever all-optically interconnected datacenter networking systems with on-board optical interconnect engines. He started his career at Nanonexus, a MEMS interconnect startup. Hiren has over 35 patents issued or pending, has co-authored over 100 technical articles, and is a Senior Member of the IEEE. Dr. Thacker received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Georgia Tech.
